Conference rooms
Schloss zu Hopferau is today an award-winning conference hotel in the Allgäu. Its uniqueness lies in its more than 550-year history and the truly special atmosphere that comes with it. At the same time, it boasts some of the most advanced seminar technology in Germany.
With its versatile conference rooms, outdoor areas, and beautiful natural surroundings, the castle provides the perfect setting for creative and successful conferences, seminars, training sessions, or product presentations – including hybrid formats.
Take advantage of the exclusive atmosphere of the Schloss zu Hopferau conference hotel and let yourself be inspired at your next seminar or conference by the pioneering spirit of Konrad Zuse. Experience the place where he developed the world’s first computer in 1945, and where historic ambiance still meets state-of-the-art technology today.

The Zuse Room – Tradition Meets Innovation
Inspired by the Z4 digital computer, the world’s first fully functional programmable computer, which inventor Konrad Zuse put into operation at Schloss zu Hopferau in 1946, this room is defined by clean lines and distinctive, angular structures.
The Z4 was far ahead of its time—and the same applies today to our conference facilities, which are equipped with state-of-the-art technology. All room features, including projector, sound, lighting, and blackout systems, can be conveniently controlled via an installed iPad Air. For presentations, a high-performance high-definition projector and free Wi-Fi are available. To perfectly showcase presentations or video conferences, a second high-definition projector can illuminate the entire screen (dimensions: 4.6 × 2.8 meters).
Thanks to automated blackout systems and a multifunctional suspended ceiling, the 46 sqm Zuse Room turns every seminar into an experience. Indirect, glare-free lighting with 625 LED light points simulates various lighting conditions—from cool to neutral to warm white—creating the perfect atmosphere.

Atelier Ottmar Hörl
In contrast to the more minimalist Zuse Room, the Atelier serves as the castle’s creative hub. Here, rounded shapes and warm colors dominate, while high-quality seminar technology is still fully integrated.
All technical equipment in this room is also controlled via iPad, ensuring smooth and effortless operation.
A multifunctional suspended ceiling with integrated lighting and acoustic technology, a powerful full-HD projector, and automated shading and blackout systems guarantee impressive presentations and lectures. For excellent acoustics—whether for music, videos, or speech—discreet ceiling speakers paired with an audio amplifier have been installed. Halogen spotlights with special reflectors provide brilliant and comfortable lighting, while LED light points allow for the creation of various atmospheres.
